Fleet Hire Services currently operate a fleet of around 5500 cars and vans from a single site on the Wirral. This compares with an average of less than 500 vehicles per site by most other operators and provides enormous advantages in economy of scale, rapid service, next day deliveries, and constant availability of senior management.

New Headquarters
Fleet Hire Services and its subsidiary company West Wallasey now have new corporate headquarters overlooking the M53 Motorway and close to the Mersey Tunnels at Wallasey. The ultra-modern office block with a 45,000 square feet service centre on a three-acre site is the new home of all the group’s sales, administration and technical facilities becoming the largest single hire depot in the U.K.

Vehicle Service
Fleet Hire Services operates a unique 24/7 service and repair system through 300 contracted agencies in all areas of the UK, Ireland and the Isle of Man. Larger hire fleets are serviced on clients’ own premises by our own mobile service units.

Company History
Fleet Hire Services, the parent company of West Wallasey Car and Van Hire, was launched by the present Managing Director and the present Operations Director as a daily rental operation and general repair business in 1974. Three years later it moved into the commercial vehicle hire and rental business, hiring mainly to corporate customers and local authorities. In 1986 the Company took over the vehicle repair business of John Howarth and launched Links View a used car dealership, which operates three retail sites on the Wirral. The aim was to obtain the highest possible value for ex-fleet vehicles, which is then reflected in lower rental and contract hire charges.
